An independent calendar of films in their original language at Spanish cinemas.
Why it exists
Spain dubs nearly every foreign film into Spanish. Original-audio screenings do exist in every big city, but they are scattered across dozens of cinema websites, each with its own filter, and none of them gathers the rest. A listing marked "V.O.S.E." also does not tell you the language: it only means original audio with Spanish subtitles, and about half of those screenings are in French, Italian, Persian or Japanese, not English.
englishmovi.es puts them in one place per city, and says which ones are actually in English.
Who runs it
englishmovi.es is an independent project run by Oki Alexander from Valencia (LinkedIn). It is not part of a cinema chain, a distributor or a ticket seller. The legal details are in the Aviso legal; to reach a person, write to info@englishmovi.es.
What you will find
- A calendar for each city. Pick yours on the home page. Every page lists the screenings in original English first, with the cinema, the day and time, the screen format where the cinema states it, and a link to book.
- A page for every film. It shows where and when that film plays in the city you are looking at, in which language, with the summary, cast and trailer where we have them.
- Other original languages, behind the Language filter and always labelled as not English.
- Festivals, open-air screens and pop-up cinemas, alongside the regular cinemas.
- The Billboard, a free email every Friday with the new English screenings in your city. You can sign up from any city page.
What it is not
It does not sell tickets. The booking links lead to the cinema's own website or its ticket seller, under their terms. Any sponsor message is labelled as one. A cinema that does not say what version it is showing is simply not listed as English.
Found a mistake?
Tell us at info@englishmovi.es: the film, the cinema and the date. A wrong language label is the error we most want to hear about, because it sends someone to a screening they cannot follow. How the data is gathered and checked is explained on How it works.
